Today was a sleepy shoot. Five hours in a warm darkened nursery can do that you you. We were yawning and blinking all over the place. BUT, oddly, we got so much done! We worked through nearly five pages of the script. That means it took five hours to film five minutes of the video . . . hmm.
Today was also our first shoot with green screen. Kind of scary--not going to lie. It's always a risk that the actors perform perfectly, something magical happens, and then the editing software erases part of their face, or the shot becomes fuzzy. We'll see how it goes over the next couple of days . . .
One of the highlights of this shoot (for me) was filming Creed (Peter Pan) and William (the shadow). William got into his green screen suit and spent about a half hour running away from Creed, which is hard with that suit as tight and as slippery as it is. At one point, Creed grabbed William and pulled him down onto the bed, but William just slipped off, flipped head over heals, and landed on his head. Talk about painful! But it's one of the best shots and William says we can use it, so I'm removing the sound and keeping it.
