Today we did all the scenes in the Captain’s Cabin. We’ve had the cabin set up in our basement for about a week now, and every time we come across some kind of pirate nick-knack we add it to Hook’s desk. We’re trying to make it look cluttered, but we simply do not own enough pirate-looking-junk.
It was a simple shoot: just Smee and Hook for three hours in our basement. I had the best time working with them. Both of them are great actors and we were so impressed by the quality of their work. I can’t wait to get this footage into Power Director (my editing software).
FAVORITE OUTTAKE OF THE NIGHT: In the “Tink’s Betrayal” scene, Hook is supposed to scoop her up and stuff her in a bottle. Of course, there is no Tinkerbell right now so our actors had to pretend to see/talk with her. At one point, Mason scoops Tinkerbell up and slams his hand down onto the bottle neck so that it looks like he’s shoving her in, but the cap is still on the bottle from the last take so we all burst into laughter. If Tinkerbell had been there she would have been smashed into the cap. Henry (who plays Smee) smiled through his beard and said simply, “Dead Fairy.”
