PETER PAN - Filming Day 18

Updated: Apr 30, 2019

It's amazing what green screen allows us to do. What we filmed today will end up in the nursery, on the ship, at the hangman's tree, in the clouds, on the Darling's roof, and even among the stars . . . BUT, we did it all in our basement in front of a 9x11 piece of green cloth.  That's incredible to me.

However, green screen isn't as fun to film in (for the director or the actor). You're confined to a super limited space and there's nothing for the actor to act against: they have to pretend to see/touch/experience their whole world and that can be tough. Also, flying isn't as effortless as it looks on screen (or even in these images). My core cast discovered that it takes a lot of neck and back muscle to look like an expert flyer.

And do you know what else? Today was Micheal, Wendy, and Peter's very last day of filming. It's great knowing that we're THIS close to the end, but I'm also really sad. It's been a great ride (or flight) and I'm sorry that it has to end!
