Oh my goodness! What a crazy filming day. Craziest yet!
Today we were filming the two water scenes: The one where Hiccup falls off Toothless into the ocean and the one where Astrid falls off Toothless and Hiccup goes after her.
We went down to the lake for this shoot. In fact it was the very same beach that I brought Reuben (Micheal) to while we were filming Peter Pan. It was so cold when I filmed Reuben's scene so I was SO scared it would be cold today. But it wasn't. Blessings!
We we ended up spending about three hours in that water. Mason (Hiccup) and Miriam (Astrid) both stood in, swam, fell, jumped into, and pretended to drown in that water all day. It was one of the most difficult shoots for them because they had so much to think about, but the footage I got was amazing! Thank you both! And thank you to my assistant director William who was so helpful on this shoot. Thanks bud!
