The post titles say it's Day 5, but it's like Day 5 part one and two because it took two days to shoot this scene. What you see is a combination of two days.
I've been excited to get to this scene since day one. This is the confrontation scene where Astrid finally finds out what's what. She's walking through the forest and finds Hiccup. He tries to keep it from her but there's no hiding anything from Astrid :)
Miriam (Astrid) and Mason (Hiccup) were amazing! They ran the gamut with this one, going from amused to confused to jumpy to scared to disbelieving, to interested, all within a scene that takes less than three minutes. Goodness you guys, well done!
This was also the scene where Astrid pushes Hiccup down, trying to protect him from Toothless and choreographed that just a bit beforehand. Still, it took a couple tries and a good round of laughter to finally get it right. Mason fell and got back up shot after shot after shot. As i was writing the script, I wasn't counting how many times Hiccup actually falls. It's a good amount. Sorry Mason!
