It's finally here! We are filming and it feels great!
Today we filmed Hiccup's three solo scenes (unless you count the days he'll be filming with an invisible Toothless . . . which are technically solo). We were in two locations: Hiccup's workshop and Hiccup's roof which was just sheets of plywood covered in straw and surrounded by green screen.
Two of the scenes featured Hiccup's Bola Launcher which Mason designed and he, Creed, and several other people helped to build. I'm going to dedicate a whole blog post to it's creation, but the photos offer a sneak peak.
Mason (Hiccup) was amazing. What a fun person to work with! He really took one for the team today. You thought falling off the pirate ship six times was intense? Well today Mason fell off the roof eight times. It really was more than eight because he fell a couple times, trying to figure out how to fall. It was some incredible footage, but I expect he's rather sore today.
I can't wait to get the whole core cast in here.
