Costume Update

Quick update! We're moving forward (slowly) with the costumes. We've been working with so many different mediums this year: fur, wool, foam, wood, clay, canvas, and leather. It's been great fun and, man, do they look good!

I've focused on Hiccup's costume mostly because he has a solo scene in his workshop right off the bat.
When Kids on Fire make costumes, we usually begin with a base (usually purchased at Goodwill) and then build from there rather than starting from scratch. Hiccup's vest is actually the lining out of a old leather coat that we seem-ripped out, turned inside out and paired down to size. The shirt is off Amazon but we added Viking-Rune embellishments around the sleeves and hems.
When Mason tried on the costume, it was magical. He looks the part 100%.
In case you haven't noticed, we're taking things a lot slower this year. We're all just a lot more busy that we imagined we'd be, but we're moving forward and we'll film each scene as it comes. Most of our scenes will probably be filmed in the spring when it's warmer. We have a couple in-the-water scenes which I'm sure the kids will appreciate doing on warm sunny days.
