Costume Fittings

We have made so much headway with these costumes! Lauren and I sat down together and mapped out everything thing we needed to make and buy and sew and fit before our core cast is outfitted.

Then we had our fittings. This is the first time our cast (besides Hiccup and Astrid) tried on their costumes and they looked great! Our twins are not related, but they might as well be: same height, same age (for half the year anyway), and same level of spunk.

We bought two matching long-sleeve brown shirts on Amazon for cheap. They fit! Hooray! But we marked on their arms in chalk where we want to cut them so their 3/3 sleeve rather than long. After sewing their shirts, we have their armguards, helmets, and boots and the twins will be ready to fight some dragons!

Ruff-Nut & Tuff-Nut

Then we have Huckskull--the smallest member of our core cast. We got an extra large shirt for him so that it would be long, but the neckline is too big and so are the arms. But that's easy to fix :) He's got such a big personality. It's going to be great deal of fun to film with these people!

Afterwards we took everybody's FWAC measurements: forearm, wrist, angle, calf so we can begin to make the boots and the arm guards. There's a lot of work to do, but we are doing it one step at a time. Before you know it, we'll be filming.
